Just saw the banner for K15, site of 2015 COG Fly-In. You can easily understand the choice. Cheap restaurants right by the airport, an O'Reilly Auto Parts store right by the runway ... and a bunch of bars & grilles. I happened to notice that one joint had all the cars parked in front of it, whereas most others looked pretty empty. That one was "GO FAST BETTY's!"

My wife and her family used to go to the area for years. They would rent a houseboat for a week or weekend.
Renting a houseboat might be an option for those who want to be a pirate and a pilot all in one weekend.
I have no idea of the price, but some of those boats are large enough for several people. Might be an option vs. the hotel route.

on a positive note, Banner activation to register for MO fly-in (K15) should be up and ready for registration any day now!
the early day of Thurs. involves a one day fly-over to Norman (if Ms. Mao is back and ready for us). Hoping for good news on that soon as well!

Now that the 2015 Fly-In location and dates are set, and it is now less than 3 months away, are there any further details such as a COG group discount booking at TanTarA Resort? and a Go or No-Go on the Norman trip for the Thursday 09/24?

Yes there will be a discount for Tan Tar-A and Norman is still on (as far as we know). The registration page should be live shortly.
