2009 Alaskan Tour

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Oh hell how did I forget that! What's new pussycat - meeeeeeooooooouuuuwwwwwww and rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to everyone! Makes me crack up every time I read it and hear it. What a great memory. Say hi to Mark for us. We already miss his humor too!

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Great news Bill B. We're glad you made it home safe and sound and your bird is well on the way to full recovery.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Great news Bill. Dave D. does nice metal work, doesn't he?

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

What seagull??:D

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

OK, kudos for the fellers at CPAC, especially Dave. Rec'd word today they completed the wing repair on 3TC. Have to let the sealant cure before paint but truly amazing progress. Great work guys!

Awesome!

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Bill,

I took a couple of pictures at the Cape of your plane with the skin removed.

This would make a great example to folks that claim there is no support for Commander parts.

Piper nor mooney have service like this.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Great news Bill. Looks like they have done excellent work!

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

First coat of paint went on today. I agree Ken. The scary spares story is an easier sell w/ an "apparent" orphan but if push came to shove, how many aircraft are really grounded because they can't find parts anywhere? There is a very can-do attitude at CPAC. Let's hope the new funding lets them really strut their stuff.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

it will be interesting to look at that in Dec.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

It wasn't like that when Wayne and myself went there. GPS app down to min. in dense smoke. IFR to departure, took one hr to get to VFR conditions to the south. Great place and lunch was a blast.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

Hi All

Just thought I would share this Youtube vidio with you. Toms mother watched this landing over in England. Probably ran out and purchased some life insurance on Tom.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

I think that I have changed it now to public.

Let me know if it works.

It was a Sundowner Sven.

Sturdy do-nut landing gear.

Re: 2009 Alaskan Tour

"How I spent my summer holdays"

The boys will have enough material to write a book rather than an essay when they go bak to skool. Nobody at home will believe them. "He drank what?!- Red Bull and Vodka? You're making that up!" "They shot a moose on the highway?! You're making that up!" etc, etc, etc, etc. Lucky they have photos.

They didn't have a holiday, they had an ADVENTURE What a great time. I wish I had had a rich Uncle Ken when I was 15/16. They will be at least 30 years old before the full realization of what a great time this was truly hits them.

How do you top this, a trip to the Himalayas?
