112A Wing life

Re: 112A Wing life

Keith,
Right now the only option is find another set of wings with service times documented on a 8130...

Re: 112A Wing life

I talked with Paul before the fly-in and he is still working on that wing-life STC.

In the meantime, Clark nailed it; a wing-ectomy.

It's an interesting subject as it probably wouldn't be too difficult to find some low-time wings for reasonable money. The actual changeover isn't too bad a job.

Re: 112A Wing life

Gang,

Can you remind me why we have wing life limits? Is this about metal fatigue?

Re: 112A Wing life

New Rules The Commander series was certified to. Things like the Flapper in the Fuel tank in case you Take off and loose your fuel cap, the fuel is not suppose to be sucked out. Don't remember when the rules were put in Place. New Bonanzas, Pipers and Cessna's were certified under Old rules and are Grandfathered in. They have no wing life limits. They didn't need to have them stated.
