    Chicago Lakefront

    Chicago controllers are something else. Doing an approach into Lansing, right before IAF, they ghosted me. Didn’t respond, radios weren’t broke, on the right freq. One other time they tried to get me to change my flight plan and get me to run out of fuel if I would’ve just went with it.

    I’m hangared at KFPR. I was at KSUA for a year. I live in PSL also. Stuart Jet Center at KSUA is expensive, but I had 0 issues there. APP jet center at KFPR are good people. The tiki restaurant is closed, thanks COVID. The self serve fuel is INOP at KFPR. Masks aren’t required in Martin...

    Commander down, glad all ok

    Both my bi-annual flight reviews were completed in rented C172's instead of in my Commander 114. At first I was a little miffed that the flight schools wouldn't instruct in my aircraft to do the bi-annual. However, hearing these horror stories I will gladly pay the extra dinero to rent a C172...

    Are you sure the cylinder numbering matches reality? Are the temps showing numbers 1 and 2 really for cylinders 3 and 4? I would think cylinders 1 and 2 would be closest to the prop, which would be normally cooler than the cylinders in the back. I fly a 114, and my #5 cylinder is the hottest...

    Control Yoke Collars

    Re: Control Yoke Collars There has to be some clearance between the shaft, shaft collar and the flange or else there is a risk of binding between all 3 parts Your u-joint does look loose though. Jim sells u-joints. Sprockets look fine.

    Re: Don't go to SoCal without your VOR check! Nothing wrong with using VOR's, a compass, or heading bug with wind calculations for a route.... Its always good to have those skills fresh in the pilotage tool kit on board
