N482RP COG spotlight - Rob Plane

Hi, Rob. Yes it was great meeting you in Colorado at the flyin. You were, at that time, already doing a lot of stuff to your airplane. BTW, your Dad and I exchange emails from time to time, telling me some of the stuff you have been doing.

N482RP COG spotlight - Rob Plane

Hi Rob, it is indeed an airplane worth the effort. The magic lives in the minutiae, and your restoration captures that essence flawlessly. They are truly an airplane unmatched and much envied. Wherever I landed, it never failed to draw attention. Pilots, mechanics, and aviation enthusiasts...

New 114A owner in the UK

The Commander is hard to beat. I has Cherokee 140 before the Commander and hands down the Commander is easier to fly, more comfortable and land than the Cherokee. Quite a bit faster to boot.

    Just a quick hello!

Tracy - you guys made good time flying almost coast to coast. I am sure you learned a lot during the flight. Enjoy. Tried to change the profile settings -- to former Commander owner but, for some reason it posted more info which, I for sure, did change. Hopefully the powers to be can change it...

    N112bm

The metal for the steps are available and any welder can make them like new. The hardest part is the gear doors and the bottom of the cowling. I see that the flaps were down and they might have gotten damaged also. Should be plenty of those in the junk yard. The airplane is quite repairable.

    New Member - New Purchase

On my 1976 it is an STC from Jim Richards - Aeroydne, Corp as all of them came with a 2 blade. The 3 blade is supposed to be quieter and climb better. Since i have had mine I do not see any difference between it and the 2 blade that it came with. To me, the big difference is how it adds to the...

    2022 Fly-In?

Yes, the rockies can be troublesome. I fly from Pearson Filed (KVUO) to Ogden, UT (KOGD) for fuel (534 NM about 4hrs) I keep the freeway off my left wingtip most of the way, and will cut south of Laramie, WY to get to Fort Collins, CO. 400 NM about 3 hours). My flight will be about 900 NM.

    2022 Fly-In?

I will bring up Fort Collins again. The Hotel accommodations were incredible, the FBO was outstanding. The workshops were well organized and very interesting. Colorado is on the East side of the mountains - which I think a lot of folks would prefer. I am on the West side of them - but I have...

Commander 114 almost a Baron victim

The same thing happened to me last Saturday, although not that close as the Baron video. At Pearson Field, we do not have a tower, but we are under Class C and have to advise Portland Tower (KPDX), which is Portland Advisory, that we have the weather and our intentions. Then, on the same freq...
