    French Lick Insights

Re: French Lick Insights Sorry to miss you guys. Events beyond control and all of that. Sounds like you had a great time. I feel I am now in great company in the Golden Tire Award sweepstakes having 'won' it in Fredericksburg and now joined by the esteemed Bill, and of course Sven. Really...

    French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options This thread got my taste buds thinking. So I stopped at OWB today and went to the Moonlight BBQ. Nothing has changed in 60 years that it has been open. Well maybe the decor was updated in the 60's. Had the mutton and the pulled pork. No mint jelly anywhere...

    French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options I did a fuel stop at OWB on the way to the 09 fly in at Boyne Mountain. Great stuff! The BBQ mutton sandwich sounded like something to pass on but it was fantastic. Highly recommended by us.

    Chicago area airports

Re: Chicago area airports Thanks guys, I looked at Google Maps, both airports are about the same distance although KLOT looks like a straight shot to New Ave where the job is. I am only going to be there a couple of hours so convenience may win out.

    Chicago area airports

I have a job in Lamont IL next week. Closest airports seem to be Lewis University (KLOT) or Joliet. Any recommendations or cautions?

    114 Hot Shot

Re: 114 Hot Shot As I've stated before. I have over 1,000 hours in mine since I bought it with no issues, exhaust or otherwise.

    South Central Fly-in

Re: South Central Fly-in I know it's late, but I have the morning free. Would love to hook up with you Byrne, Scott, Jay and whomever else is around. Arkansas is a bit of a hike though. Will wait to see if anyone has a meet up suggestion in the morning. Do want to go to Gastons some day...

    What are you listening to?

Re: What are you listening to? Rob, Can't say I have heard of that. Look forward to seeing you again.

    What are you listening to?

Re: What are you listening to? Capercallie and Battlefield Band. (Rob will know these) I have the music from the TV show 'Nothern Exposure' that I like because it is so eclectic. When in the mood for classical, I find Rachmaninoff is great to listen to while flying.

    Hebrides Flight

Re: Hebrides Flight Sid, I entered fingals cave on a boat trip a few years back. Regina took some lovely pictures that are now framed on our wall in New Orleans. The island is on the west coast of Scotland ( not north) just a little south of the Isle of Mull. From the mainland you can take a...

    2012 COG Annual Fly-in

Re: 2012 COG Annual Fly-in Hmmm mm................ This would not be a good subject to bring up around my neck of the woods. Government wouldn't let me back to my home or business for six weeks even though we had sustained only minor damage, which allowed it to fester and mold making it major...

    114 Hot Shot

Re: 114 Hot Shot Carl, What size are the fuel injector reference lines on the Camerillo system? On mine the are 1/4" I believe. Just installed GAMI injectors in they are smaller so connections a little difficult.

Re: 2012 COG Annual Fly-in Second that on the Moonlight bar-b-que. Stopped here on the way up Boyne Mountain and had the mutton sandwich. Never had better.

    114 Hot Shot

Re: 114 Hot Shot I don't see anything close to that. My aircraft was the test plane for the STC and was in the experimental category for three years. I have all the test data in the plane logs. Don't have them in front of me but it seems the plane needed to be somewhere close to 18k to see...

    South Central Fly-in

Re: South Central Fly-in If I fly solo that might be more like 600lbs of Abita beer. Just saying'.

    South Central Fly-in

Re: South Central Fly-in That sounds like it could be fun. Regina did not sound enthused so it might have to be a boys toys weekend for me, but so be it.

    Houston airports

Re: Houston airports Scott, I did my instrument training there at American Flyers. Fried my Garmin 430 in the mid summer 104 degree heat. Shop there bent over backwards to get me a loaner over 4th July weekend and not interrupt my training. They were good folks. Three flights a day for eight...

    South Central Fly-in

Re: South Central Fly-in Yeah, well I was really looking forward to visiting with you guys so this is a disappointment for both Regina and myself. Glad I held off booking the hotel til I was sure. As you said Craig, always a next time!

    South Central Fly-in

Re: South Central Fly-in Well, bad news for me today. The new panel arrived but it was unpainted and unmarked. Apparently signals were crossed and the panel maker thought my avionics guy wanted to test fit it before it gets powder coated and stenciled even though they had previously sent a...
