  • G'day COG President,

I'm new to the Group, tried to join, filled out the name, email and and password entries but when I attempted payment, I received a message I don't understand. I appreciate some assistance and a call would be very helpful.

    Thanks,

    Wayne Johnson

I would like to attend this year's Fly-In.
Can you point me to the information so I can begin to make plans?

    Thanks dvanbeek
Any luck on the PayPal issue? I'm still trying to renew the membership and having no luck. If there is another way to renew the membership can you please let me know? My UID is IGRAKUS.

Was set up for auto-renewal but it looks like that didn't happen last year for some reason (probably a PayPal thing).

    Thanks for the help.
I’ve tried twice going directly to the web master, tried going thru Judi once and even sent a copy of my PayPal transaction from Feb 5th, 2024. Now trying again but I can tell you nothing has happened within hours of my PayPal transaction. You guys need a better system

We were traveling at the time with limited access to internet but now understand that Glenn Mores has you operational. Regret your inconvenience.
Hello Bill, I read some advice you wrote on the COG 10 years ago. You were assisting someone in by passing the power/flasher for an LED beacon upgrade. I'm attempting the same on 7MA "92" B model, and was hoping you can help me. I'm a building contractor, electronics isn't my thing but I like tinkering with the airplane.
In the pictures, I believe ships power is the thick white wire opposite red on the Molex connector. The harness running up to the beacon (2x twisted) is coming off the yellow, and I assume the green is a ground. In reading your post, is it correct to connect the ships power to the solid white strand of the harness going to the beacon (V+) and the blue/white striped wire coming off the beacon to the other white wire opposite green on the molex? Any guidance you can offer is appreciated.

Sorry for the delay. Just noticed your posting. Were you able to get a response before now? ill depend upon your beacon selection. Enclosed type or the tophat variety (all red or red/white type? My LED beacon (all red enclosed) needed only switched V+ and ground. If you have a VOM handy, easy enough to ring the molex to verify that the beacon switched power is supplied to the double white. If so, then using the other ground lead is your connection of choice. (you can ring the center contact to verify the center lead makes a good aircraft ground.) The blu/wht isn't needed. in this type of install.
Are the tank drains the wing sumps you are referring too or is there an actual tank drain on our commanders? I have to drain the tanks on my 114 to have the JPI 900 installed and I was going to fly the fuel out and drain the last 10 gallons out by the wing sumps, is there an easier way?
Hi Bill,About those wingtip power supply units. I am seeing an Aeroflash 152-0007 on the left. I used a little electrical contact cleaner on it and couldn’t get any satisfaction. I loosened and then tightened the ground with no effect either. The unit flashed twice after it had been on for two or three minutes and that’s all it would do. So I know the bulb is good and when it’s quiet in the hangar I can hear a high pitched whine from the power supply itself, so it wants to work. The right strobe is really active-it flashes every couple of seconds. The wiring looks good, and everything under the wingtip seems clean and corrosion free. I have to believe that the power supply is just dying. What’s your opinion?
What would you want for your spare(s)?
    Thanks , Rolf
    Bill
Did you add same type of switch as the others and if so, would you mind telling me where you got it?
    Hi Walter
My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I was waiting until my avionics installer completed swapping out the Garmin 400 for the Garmin 480. It now has just been installed. I was advised by the avionics specialist that the GPSS could not be installed as it is really meant for an HSI 525A unit and an auto pilot that has altitude hold. As you may be aware I only have the stock Century 11.
Any chance I might return the unit to you as I can not use it now.
    Regards
    Philip
