    Hi Jay. Sorry for my dumb question, but here goes. I saw you your mention about Garmin's new STC for the GFC500 AP. Does that mean you cannot install a legacy autopilot in our Commanders such as the S-Tec 55X (which I was looking at)? I really do not know. I have the UAvionix (already in my plane when I just bought it) for an EFIS and their first integration will be with legacy S-Tec products such as the model 30 (which I had on my Skyhawk), 55X, etc. Thanks in advance!

    First off, the there is no STC yet for the GFC500 autopilot for Commanders. Garmin is working on it and it is expected within a month or two. As far as legacy S-TEC a/p go, yes if they were STC approved such as the 30 and 55x then you can still install them. I would rather have newer technology though.

    You will need to go to the hangar section of the website and look for it pretty sure.
