    N4698w, '78 112TCA crash in UK

Looks to me from video Judi posted it was low ceiling. Made it to near edge of field but no cigar. Easy set down apparently from pics, no fire and you know it had lots of fuel. No debris field Looks survivable sort of.

    Savannah get-away

I always enjoy watching your videos Gary. Savannah is definitely a walking and steps place.

    Savannah, GA. info

Hi Gary, I hope I didn’t get in too late on this thread. There are lots of ways to approach Savannah. My choice is to get any hotel down close to River St on Bay St — look for best deals…like Hilton Garden, Hampton, Renaissance, etc. Don’t take hotels in other areas, not even other historic...

    IFR Currency in my Commander!

Ok, now you're ready for some ACTUAL action with ATC. No better practice than being in the real thing. Thanks for the video, always fun to watch.

Yoke too small for GFC 500 switches

As best I know, the yokes are solid castings then milled at factory for controls originally. To get the dual-trim switch on top, the avionics shop milled it out a little bit more.

Yoke too small for GFC 500 switches

I just finally finished the Garmin GFC500 autopilot upgrade with two GI-275s replacing the old attitude indicator and directional gyro instruments which then allowed the entire vacuum components to be removed. So now in addition to the mic button in front I have an a/p disconnect button and the...

    Commander CFIs

As for BruiseR and his 6000' MSL airport elevation out West, I really think you should look at turbo Commanders. A 112 normally aspirated is going to be too slow in climb, especially on high density altitude days and fighting for useful load. A 112 is for perfect for low altitude airports. A...

    Showing the Commander

Nice video Gary. Too bad you didn't get the return filmed completely. I hope to see you at Dayton Fly-In if I can get off work.

Should the Commander be an Option?

A new thread on this insurance thing pops up about every few months or so. It's so hard to compare insurance due to so many variables. Do a search for insurance here on COG and you hopefully find the thread where those of us have stated our qualifiers (experience, type Commander model, hull...

    Thinking about buying a 114/114B

Most people don’t know what a Commander is let alone thinking of doing a buy search for one. I get more comments from people at fields I fly into that want to know what kind of plane that is…they say they have never seen one before. Best kept secret.

    Yesterday’s Adventure

11 hours in one day over 4 legs with 45 min refuel breaks? What do you do up there to pass the time?

New Member interested in acquiring a Commander

The larger more comfortable cabin and a door on both sides compared to competing aircraft is what sold me on the Commander. People say it's a bit slower but I can pull ahead of a 182 any day.
