Welcome to the new Commander Owners Group Forums. Please bear with us as the kinks are worked out and things are tweaked. If you have any questions or issues with the new platform, please post them here.
Glad you walked away from this, sounds like there were a number of opportunities for a far worse outcome.
On a general point: over the years I’ve owned my Commander I’ve never managed to carry out my biennial flight with any instructor having more than a few hours on type. I love watching them...
That looks optimistic from a British perspective. Right now we can only fly in England, can’t even go to Wales and only with social distancing. Biggest problem is a two week quarantine when re-entering the country.
I hope it’s possible but pessimistic.
That is an interesting thought, however my 112B would need a new engine before being Hot Shotted and I believe Carl has stopped producing the upgrade kit anyway.
The reason you can’t use a UL fuel in an IO 360 C series is because it is a high compression engine. The IO540 is not. The...
In the next UK AOPA magazine an article states that by the end of 2020 TEL production will end in Europe, leaving all 112 owners grounded. Is their an alternative engine we can fit, now the IO390 is no more? Would of course have to run on UL91 which is available here.

Lots of almost new avionics...

Is the weight distribution further forward in the Hot Shot than the normal 112B, just thinking of the trim position.
I guess the advice on full power climb to cruise level comes from a country where AVGAS isn’t $12.00/Gal.
From my...
Re: 112/B take off characteristics
I also have some experience of PA32s and they are a world apart on takeoff. Plus the extra 100 HP really gets them moving at a cost.
In all takeoff circumstances and on all surfaces I use 10 degrees of flap except very short field. Trim has to be at least...
Re: Why isn't anyone blogging?
After nine years and two children I can barely get time to fly now never mind read about other people. I think I'll be saving my stories for when I'm the old man that sits in the flying club boring the youngsters!
