Evening Dave, We've got in-law family in Middleburg and use Keystone as our link-up field. Unfortunately I'm on a 150nm radius lockdown per COVIG (Army employer directive) and JAX is just a bit over that. Lessons learned; Don't forget the tax man! Just when you get all the finances in order...

    New Owner N4771W

Craig!! Super news. Hey, I probably have most of those parts you 'practically / gave away' during the Co FlyIn. Let me know if you need any of them. Probably take me a few days to 'find' them . . . :o Man! really glad to hear of your acquisition. Look forward to linking up again. Clear Skies, John

    New Member - buying help

Kurt Welcome to the COG. First, get it out of the way, If you can draft up a basic signature block. At least include your location. We may be neighbors with an open invite to get some actual left seat time . . . Pre-Buy, necessary evil. This is my first shot at ownership and didn't really...

FAA captures something other than a bonanza!

Cool capture!! Per the above story subject. Stationed in Korea many years ago and at the Osan AFB they used noise cannons to attempt to scare the birds away. Worked so so . . The U2 flew (maybe still does) out of there when I was stationed at a base further North. Anyway the story goes that...

    French Lick Sept 18-20 - 2020 Unofficial

Just a quick Poll to see the interest. I know the virus is playing havoc on everyone, in my case we're limited to 100 nm travel from our base without a waiver.(Military Commanding General order) If you feel like it, update the poll and we'll see what pans out. Poll will timeout on (20 Sep 20)...

    West Texas flying

Quick diversion - :o Working with Memphis CTR one Sunday morning just around the Tenn / Bama border I received a traffic advisory. "Commander, traffic 'no-factor' at 12 o'clock, 7 miles passing right to left - TWO B-52's" Not what you normally see on a day to day traffic call. Chalk Two...

    West Texas flying

One of my Army postings was Ft. Bliss (El Paso). When asked, most of us picked 'night flights' especially in the summer months. Starting out with a field elv of 4,000' and on those hot days the poor helo's were about at their limit. Recall one afternoon flying Nap of the Earth being at max power...

About to take possession of a 115

Welcome Dave, Think I'm the (self) designated signature block poc . . but it 'REALLY' helps if you draft a basic signature block with your location and airplane data in the discussions about our planes and projects. Best with your acquisition . . John

Don't marry your decision (flying decisions) - always keep an open mind

Or at least a set of fire detection strips / sensors. . . .

Don't marry your decision (flying decisions) - always keep an open mind

JPI 930 Fuel totalizer by itself does excellent - however - if there were a leak - it would never catch it. I had that very discussion with a hangar mate last night, My fear is a gasolater deciding to open in flight . .
