  • Are you selling your Commander? I see that it is posted on Barnstormers. A gentleman by the name of Joel is brokering it? I have a student that is interested in the aircraft and was trying to get details regarding the aircraft. My name is Brian and my number is 704-363-2985

I understand Joel has discussed the airplane with you. Whatever questions you have, let us know.
    Frank,
My name is Ed Sinayi, I’m the owner of N515CA a 1976 114 SN 14059. I’d be interested in any spare parts you may have left over after the sale of your plane.

I will keep your information and see what I have left. It might be a few days before I can do that.
Hi Frank, Bill Hopkins here. Can I please get your last name so I can include it on the list of pump kits buyers? Thanks a bunch.

Frank, did you happen to have the Fuel Pump Breaker switch? I believe you said it was 7.5 amps.

I don't have one. You might try BAS Sales in Colorado. They might just have one.
Did we ever find out where in Co. for the fly in? Steve

Sorry, I just now saw your message. I think it is Fort Collins, Loveland airport KFNL
It is being worked on, as I understand.
The person in charge will post the exact place once all the pieces are in place.
Looking to have my front bucket seats (leather) reupholstered, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Commander 114B 1992 N6007Z.

Not sure how to help you.
The aviation folks that do seats etc are way too expensive, in my opinion.
I found a local shop that was about 20 percent the cost when compared to such shops. The seats were done about 10 years ago and the cost was $2,200.00.

I took my time studying the interior of my airplane and added stuff in the cockpit to make it more convenient for my use. I added a side pocket to put little stuff in such as, a small flashlight, pen, knife, yoke gust pin, and my brief checklist
I has the seats padded for comfort.
The frames were sanded and painted black and the rollers greased. ( I did the work)

My seat belts do not go through the seats in the front but do in the rear.
Had new carpet custom fitted to the airplane and made sure there wasn't any carpet that would get caught when removing the front seats in the future. It is pretty important to make sure the carpet is clear of the rollers. Otherwise, it can be a big problem.

I did not glue down the carpet as I used commercial velcro. The carpet is all edged and can be removed for cleaning in the front. On the sides I used screws. When you do the carpet for the pilot side where the emergency dump valve is located make sure no screws stop the emergency handle from working as it should.
There was a post where the emergency handle could not be pushed down for the landing gear due to a screw being placed in the wrong place.

For the front of the back seat, I had a skirt made that goes over the bolts that hold the rear seat down and is removable when the rear seat is taken out. I did that to keep some cold air out. The skirt goes to the floor.

I probably did some other stuff that I can't remember right now.
You can call me at 360 907-4363 if you want to better understand as I am sure you have more questions.

Frank, is there a flow chart for trouble shooting the landing gear? I cant seem to get mine to go up? the power pack kicks in when the master switch is turned on, and pressurizes up, but when in flight and i move the switch to up nothing happens.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank You,

Thank you Frank - this helps greatly! I have been doing this for quite some time and I personally have found the Rockwell manuals to be the worst I have ever seen. Sad too! I used to work for Rockwell on their space shuttle and they were meticulous when it came to the data that was provided in their tech manuals.

I agree. There are multiple errors. For example - you cannot remain a main gear if you follow the instructions and there are some others also. It is best to ask sometimes before proceeding on a major project due to the maintenance manual errors.

Hey Frank, do you still have the fuel pump switch? if so, how much?

    Hi Alex,
I am not sure of your request. I have some rocker breakers but I do not know for sure if I have that amp size. Let me know if you are asking about the rocker breaker. That is what my airplane uses for the fuel pump. I have a 114.
