Re: Proud Father

Scott con grads to your son and just the beginning of his avgas fuel addiction & flying, and did he do it in a the Commander?

Awesome Scott proud for him and u

Re: Proud Father

with him in Chicago and me in Detroit, it was too tricky to do in the Commander. We tried. But he learned in a REMOS and wow, that was fun. I flew with him and I was officially "Pilot in Command," of course, but he did absolutely everything from start to finish. He is quite good with the Commander, but the insurance will probably make him do 10 hours with someone who does not know the plane 1/10 as well as he does. But they have to be sure, I understand that. Anyone have a CFI with good Commander knowledge in Chicago area? I will have to check out the CFI first though!

Re: Proud Father

That is very cool, Scott. I would give anything to have another pilot in the family. My son likes flying, but prefers driving his Porsche on a track... You must be very proud, and Conor should be, as well. Congratulations to both of you!

Re: Proud Father

Scott-Absolutely, Congrats to Conner and you. Thought the 'Proud Father' was your post of Conner becoming a father. Ok, so Conner didn't do his check ride in the Commander, But sure you two plan a Commander log book checkout---soon!

Happy Birthday indeed 'Pops'! :)

Re: Proud Father

That generational continuity is neat Scott. Congrats to you and Conor.

Re: Proud Father

Pretty cool Scott. Double thumbs up! I'm sure he got that shirt tail cut off to honor the event. Please pass on my congrats to Connor and thank you for helping to grow the new pilot population!

Re: Proud Father

Best to Conner and wishing him MANY safe hours ahead.
I know you’re proud, I’ve got two fledglings myself . .

Re: Proud Father

even better ... there is a very good chance that Conor (so many different spellings here!) and bride and baby will be moving to our area this summer. He is extremely handy, loves to build stuff, fix stuff, wax the plane, etc. etc. I think my life is about to get easier! Plus will be nice to have another pilot for dog trips. Now he has to get his IFR so he can fly Wings of Mercy people trips!

Re: Proud Father

Will Conor be shopping for a green Commander with white panel of his own?

Re: Proud Father

Congrats to Connor and dad.

He has already suggested coughing up cash for half ownership, which we will use for updates. Gotta love a son like that!

Re: Proud Father

Scott,
Congratulations.
I think you should give half of the plane to Conor and half to your grandson.
