Could the admins please update my access so I can view the forum?

Is there any chance of automating this process and not having to pay with PayPal?
 
Hi Mark; your membership expired 11-03-2022. Will ck w our COG Treasurer Bob Tippens, but I think PayPal is how it's all set up; unless you pay by check.

I couldn’t find anywhere that clearly states my membership has expired and I paid $100 on Sunday evening, Saturday for the US and still don’t have access. If you can help, that would be great!

Hi Mark. The answer is 'partially'. If you use the renewal feature here in the conferences (link in blue bar at the top of the page), the renewal is immediate and you will then get email reminders about subsequent renewals in the future. Please make sure you whitelist all email from Commander.org so the renewal notices don't end up in your spam/junk folder. Yahoo and Gmail in particular are notorious for treating legit email as spam.

As Judi mentioned, a payment from the main website page has to be manually processed. And if that payment is made with a different email address than what is registered here in the forums or a company name, it can sometimes take some back-and-forth correspondence to figure out who is renewing what.

And regarding PayPal, it's just our merchant processor for credit cards. You don't need a paypal account to make a payment and any credit card is fine to use for payments. The only time a paypal account is required is if you want to set up an automatic recurring subscription - that authorization is stored with PP and not with us.

I am in the same boat. I auto renew and it was processed in November , but I only have Public access to the forum.

There is what I'd call a bug in PayPal that causes this problem. We mentioned the issue and a workaround several years ago but here's the info again.

Because of the way that PayPal processes these recurring subscriptions to vBulletin, a server upgrade we did some years ago caused the PP system to have a problem. When a subscription is created by a user, at PayPal it's hard-coded to the server and vBulletin system name. Yes, this isn't a good idea but no one at PP or vBulletin seems interested in our opinions on the matter :). So what happens is the recurring payment is processed by PP and then confirmation is sent to the old server - which no longer exists. Consequently your subscription doesn't get updated.

Our treasurer Bob Tippens has to manually check every renewal and catch these that don't update. Sometimes some do slip by for which we apologize.

To get around this problem permanently, you need to cancel/terminate your old subscription and create a new one. This will then correctly reference the setup we've been using for the past 3-4 years.

We are looking at other conferencing/payment/website solutions but because of the many years of data we have, these are pretty substantial undertakings and we aren't quite ready to start that process. We'll let everyone know when we get close.

I just paid my dues today. Hopefully, it will be processed before my current dues expire.
 
I believe I am having the same issue with my membership, I thought I had paid it last month but I received a notice about payment due and now I seem to have limited access. I thought I was on auto renew but please let me know if it didn't go thru for some reason.
 
Hi Glenn, I renewed via PayPal a couple of days ago and believe my SUB has expired. Can you please check and see if you see the renewal ?

Same issue here. I wrote to the Administrator a day or so ago- no word yet. Are you guys seeing my payment on PayPal?
