David,

All of the multi time is in a Piper Seminole. Fun planes, I enjoyed the time.

Re: Heading to Florida

Congrats Dave. It's been fun to watch you progress through the chairs. Hope you get the vocational ride you are looking for very soon.

Re: Heading to Florida

End of the line in Florida

Passed my final CFI checkride today, packing up the car and heading for home.

Very excited to be heading home, its been a long 3 months. Feel like I accomplished alot, however feel like there is a whole lot left to accomplish!!

Re: Heading to Florida

Congratulations Dave!! You should be very proud of your accomplishments. Hope your time, efforts and $$ will lead to even more success in the future.

Re: Heading to Florida

Congratulations Dave. What are your plans now?

Re: Heading to Florida

Great news Dave. Congratulations on your success. It seems like yesterday when you started - those three months went by pretty fast. It's great to see someone pursue a passion especially with today's economy. Gutsy move - I admire you. Hope you get a ride asap so you can put it to good use. See you at Boyne - looking forward to it.

Re: Heading to Florida

Thanks to all for your support.

Pat/Betty - while it may have flown by quickly on the web board it took quite a while when I was there :) I'm glad to be home again. Heading out to the hangar to see the little girl right now.

All in all it was quite a bit of work. More so than I imagined. I kind of thought a school would "teach" everything, and they do. But nothing was spoon fed. You had to want to learn, and be active to get through it all. At least in that time frame.

All in all I took 7 checkrides in 93 days. Worked out to about 1 check ride every 13 days. It was work without a doubt.

As for my plans now... I got home at 1:30 AM on Friday. Slept a bit, got up made up resume's and business cards, and by 3:00 I was in an interview with the company I'm trying to work for. They want more time and an ATP rating, but I think I can get on with them as an SIC part time while I learn the ropes and their routes.

In the mean time, I'm going to fly as much as possible. I plan on hitting up all the people that have twins at the airport and offering my services as safety pilot for them. Technically once I have 5 hours in a multi-engine I am able to instruct in one. So the more planes I get in, the better off I'll be.

So in short, looking for a job, and will probably be hanging out at the airport everyday trying to make contacts.

Re: Heading to Florida

You trying to work for Labquest?

Re: Heading to Florida

RDG + Commercial = Labquest. All I know is they have a fleet of B58's and Pilatus PC-12's and fly them day and night, through impossibly bad weather, ferrying lab samples from the region to the lab in Reading.

So why do I know anything about them at all? We had a hellish ice storm here a few years ago. The ice pellets and wind woke me up at 3AM. I heard a plane pass overhead, and thought who the hell would be flying in this? Got up, checked Flightaware, and there was a Labquest B58 flying from TEB to RDG. Every airport was closed by the next morning, until mid-morning or later. I realize B58's are FIKI, but wow.

Re: Heading to Florida

Yes - They fly hard IFR.

It will be good experience for me if I survive it. :)
