Has anyone seen a drop in 100LL prices yet? One gas station in London Kentucky is selling automotive gas at 99 cents a gallon!

The home base (KOXB) has dropped to $5.00. A ten minute hop north to KGED is 4.64. When I last flew I tankered a full load of fuel home from Martinsville, VA., their price was $4.19.

Regular auto gas prices in town are $2.09

100LL, Kerrville, Texas (KERV), $4.25 self serve, auto fuel still at $2.04

I noticed that 100LL has dropped a whopping 10 cents at my home field. Whoopee! I can fly twenty minutes away and save 90 cents, (and warm up the oil too). It’s $4.59 here.
I realize that 100LL is less than 1 percent of all gasoline that is refined ( if I remember correctly) ,so I didn’t expect much of a drop.

We have had a drop over here. It went from $9.30/USG to $8.10/USG.

Bit academic though as an article in the next AOPA magazine in the UK said they had been informed TEL production was stopping. No 100LL then and no Commanders with IO360's left flying. Happy days :(

Lots of almost new avionics being parted out very soon, stay tuned.

Gasoline (auto or aircraft) has not dropped anywhere close to the percentage decrease that crude oil market pricing has dropped in my area (NE Texas).

Prices probably won’t drop much until they sell most of there higher priced fuel that the FBO’s bought. With the virus not many people are flying I guess. Our FBO has seen a significant drop in sales.

Adding to Mike’s comments, it’s real simple: our fbo manager has said that the price of fuel is what they paid for their last tank truck plus profit markup. So when he gets low and orders another 10,000 gallon tank truck load the price will be that delivery’s cost plus profit markup. The expectation is it will be lower of course.

If the fbo folks had some savvy they would discount this existing av gas to help it sell and make the loss up on the cheaper next tank load coming in like car gas stations do—effectively stealing market share from other fbo’s. You shouldn’t need a marketing MBA to understand this.

Our FBO has said this same thing for the last 4 years my plane has been housed there. It's odd how he raises prices when the price of a barrel goes up but I've yet to see much of a drop. We are currently at $5.80 per USG. Luckily we have a municipal field 6 USG's away @ $3.84

I think from memory in the USA the batch of 100LL is only made about twice per year and seeing any price reduction is lagging pretty far from what the fuel market is doing, and any change in avgas prices would take six months or more I think.

I am flying down to Houston tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing what it will cost to get me back home. Not expecting much of a decrease.

Stephen, any clue, as cities begin to go on lockdown, i.e. so far in Texas, DFW, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Boerne, Fredericksburg, what does this do to us in our ability to fly? Will we be grounded, in Texas????

I don't know. I know that business wise I don't have a reason to fly - no one is conducting business. West Houston airport told me that it will still be legal to fly into their airport when Houston gets locked down tomorrow, but then again it may be perfectly legal to land, but will it be legal to leave the airport and get on the public streets?

The only reason I am flying down is to pick up my daughter. My business is conducting meetings by phone and web - no ability to have face to face meetings anymore. I am reduced to my new engine sitting in the hanger with nothing to do - other than this flight today to get a kid.

$3.83 (nickel discount for on field resident) $3.78 at neighboring field. Those prices have remained constant for a year now. No complaints :)

Stephen, Know the feeling on the new engine. I'm just over 850 hrs on my setup and to me that still has the new car feel . .

Get this virus out of the way and we'll have to stretch their legs a bit. Bet we can get a few others to join a flight . . .

Someone say something about 'Pigs Flying'?? Pigs flying.JPG

Nothing from brad on the skyBeacon

We completely understand! We are all home working remotely (architect), and go to fly this afternoon for the first time in 2 weeks. Went to Llano, KAQO, known for Coopers BBQ, the airport which usually is full on the ramp, one plane!!! Houston Center had little traffic on the frequency. I felt really lonely in the air. Pray blessings of safety on your flight and that people will be more sane!!!!

$3.23 - price dropped today at KEDN :)
