Greetings, fellow Commander enthusiasts! I hope this finds you all doing well.

I'm looking at the possibility of acquiring a 112/114 that's presently in Europe. It was registered in the US and was based here for at least 10 years before making the trip across the pond.

Does anyone have experience or know the ins and outs of bringing one of these beauties back into the US and airworthy under FAA regs?

thanks in advance for your thoughts and/or experiences!

Cheers,
Mike.

Hello Mike, glad you haven't given up on finding the right Commander. Frankly, though, I've never heard of a 112/114! However, for your question, I'd have to think Judi would be the first source I'd turn to if in your position. She also currently has listed for sale an incredible 112TC, N4591W. See this link. Based on your prior posts, the plane might be just what you are looking for, without having to deal with any import issues.

112/114 as in 112 or 114

Yes, I got that. Just trying to add some levity, as Mike said "a 112/114 that's presently in Europe.. It was registered...." To me this reads in the singular, as referring to a specific airplane...so it has to be one or the other...

Ha! Yes, I got the the joke and you are correct with the singular versus plural!! I am actively looking at multiple aircraft in Europe but one in particular has caught my eye. And it was that what I was thinking of as I was composing the message. So you got in my head!!!

Thanks for the suggestion of talking to Judi. I’m actually in communication with her on a fairly frequent basis these days. She just sold an absolutely gorgeous aircraft that I missed by all of two hours! I’m still kicking myself for my own negligence on that one.

Ha! After looking at the link I realize that is the plane that I missed out on by two hours!!!

I just took a look. For all that equipment - thats good value. I'd never list mine for that. If that plane has no gremlins , i might buy it as a 100% flying parts spare for my TC :)

Judi - whose bird was that ?

Ah right. TC brother :)

with that equipment, its a steal at that price,
