Re: The right place at the right time.

My son is a UC-35 driver (Citation) for the Army, one day he shared he called for taxi and ground told him to 'taxi to XX but give way to the Boeing'.

Not a problem - he started his scan looking for an airliner when "Aluminum Overcast" a pristine B-17 came taxing out between a couple hangars.

Like your situation, 'don't see that every day' . . .

Re: The right place at the right time

I fly out of Detroit Willow Run, the famous B-24 Airport. They don't have one of those (seems they should!) but they do have both a B-17 "Yankee Lady" and a B-25 "Yankee Warrior" which is often flown by our very own COG member, Mike Weatherbee. I have the privilege many times of landing or departing nearly next to one or the other on our parallels, 23L & R, and have taxied behind them often. Never ceases to inspire a sense of wonder and admiration.
