The flight back home was great. We left right behind you guys and saw that great sunrise. Flew pretty much along the front that was coming through and had good tailwinds all the way home.

Re: The fly in

glad yall had a good flight. Im already looking forward to the next one next year in Sedona. First of the Day to you also Alex are you in the US or out of Country working?

Re: The fly in

Thanks for all the effort the crew went through to put on a first class fly in. I'm glad you beat the weather home Lonnie. I left around 11:30 and ran smack into the front along the the southern route, Solid IFR and rain most of the way with 24kt head winds.I heard a radio call to Tallahassee from a Commander that he was not able to maintain VFR and would need to land. Does anyone know if it was one of ours? and is he alright? Mitzi and I landed at Diamondhead around 2:50pm in heavy rains. This Commander is starting to earn my respect as a very capable cross country airplane. Mitzi and I really enjoyed meeting all of the COG folks. I think we found a new "Family" thanks to all again.

Re: The fly in

We made it home alright too, around 3:30 local time here. Not much to speak of for real weather, just lots of clouds.

Thanks all for the great event, Sid and his crack team (in spite of MB and I getting fired from registration duty...) did a great job, definitely top two for the ones we've been to!

Lonnie, thanks for a great fuel stop, we appreciate you're making a fresh batch of "Mississippi Avgas" for us, we even filled a jug for tonight. Must be part Marvel Mystery Oil, my plane's never run so clean, and I picked up two knots. ;)

I looked at my camera for pics but someone must have erased them all, just a message "What happens in Jekyll stays in Jekyll...." guess you had to be there!

Tater, all y'all!

David & MB

LOL David.

Re: The fly in

I posted a bunch of ramp pictures at: 2010 COG Fly-in

When it came to after hours activities, I left my camera turned off, so you'll have to look elsewhere if you're curious about David's comment. :)

Re: The fly in

Re: The fly in

Great pic Moazzam.... I bugged out early, wheels up about 5:30 but stopped at Waycross Ware (KAYS) after only 50 miles... Hard to see those darn clouds in the dark. Got out just as dawn broke and Dodged a little weather accross the rest of Georgia and most of Alabama... Up, Down, Left, Right... The flight of a VFR pilot. Was fun though... Home by 11:30.

LONNIE, I stopped at LUL for fuel on the way home (actually, I was going to stop in Prentice but it was socked in so I headed south) I Met your AP and he let me in the terminal so I could check the weather for the remainder of the trip. Says thanks to you, his Condo in Hawaii just got a new pier for him to dock the new 40' sloop he just picked up.

He says your his favorite!

Re: The fly in

I skype-called Lonnie from down under and got the lowdown. Sounds like a good time was had by all. Sorry I missed it. I saw we are planning Sedona next year? Do we have a date? Julian Dinsdale over here said that he, and he suspects many others from foreign lands, can get there if they have 6 months notice ... more is better? If we have the date, please post.

Re: The fly in

Great pic Moazzam!

We had a great time, thanks to all for the prep and execution work that makes it all come together.

Can't wait for Sedona!
