Just read where Sun n Fun is being pushed to early May this year. From many years past it is warm in late Mar / early Apr, May 'may no pun intended' be just a tad warm.

Guys in the office are betting if the event will actually take place in May or be pushed again.

Red face moment.:o I've already ordered my souvenir package for this year . . .

Yeah, kind of mixed thoughts on this change. It now falls on the week preceding Mother's Day, and I was planning to be in FL that weekend anyway. I just wasn't planning on a week in the Florida sunshine of early May. It does screw up my flights, and even though the airfare early that week is cheaper I'll probably lose some money rearranging things (I already had a flight booked to visit Mom, so I'll end up having to cancel one flight). The other downside is I had a shopping list planned for April installations, so that's going to be pushed back.

One good side effect is that the hotels are just finding out, so I was actually able to get a room for slightly less than my first reservation.

L

just be carful. In the past I have heard hotels canceling reservations with lower prices in favor of the higher prices ( overbooked).

Wait a minute folks, as of this minute the flysnf.org website still indicates the expo is March 31-April 5.
It only has a proposal to change the event to May 5-10.
I have already scheduled to go at the planned dates and if they keep it then I will be there camped out next to my Commander.
May is too hot to be camped out.

I think this year maybe I will just go the distance to Oshkosh then. Lakeland is already too hot almost in early April for total outside day events and camping out at night let alone May.

We made Osh a few years ago, flight of two AC11's - stopped in Waukegan just north of Chicago and departed early the next morning. Not a bad staging field, for Mil / Ret there is a Navy Lodge there with very reasonable lodging . .;)

Oshkosh was roasting hot when I went there in 2018.

Not really, just poking fun at our Pre-Order. Connie always places an order so we can beat the lines at the event.

Sorry to hear the event is being postponed / pushed to 2021.

Stay safe out there!,
John

I'm sure that you've seen the press release from SunNFun, cancelling 2020's on-site event and moving to an on-line event.

Let's hope that we don't have the same situation with AirVenture. They're supposed to be making a decision in May.
