Re: Some Pix to share

Yikes, giganto files.

Your friend looks like he has some Faret in the face. Relative?

Is the paved runway in the third picture Goodspeed (or whatever it's called) on the CT river?

And, wow, you landed at GI again. What a surprise.

Re: Some Pix to share

I landed at Goodspeed over 30 years ago in a cub. I thought the Runway was way too short back then, and I was really worried about clearing the bridge. You're doing that in a Commander 112???? Sven you're fearless!!!!

Re: Some Pix to share

I've been into Goodspeed - a nice summer afternoon, I recall. A friend was getting married nearby.

I saw they do seaplane training there, also - or at least they used to. Sounds like fun. A delightful little airport.

Re: Some Pix to share

I got my sea plane rating at Good Speed back in '81. I owned my 112 and a Lake 200. Way too expensive to maintain and have fun in. I'm not a in-the-water-guy. Also too much mischief was attracted to me back then having a sea plane. Those stories in private.

My cousin has a 180 on floats in Norway parked next to his house. So is why we went to Good Speed. Never thought Good Speed a challenge. 3800 foot or something, newly paved I thought. 1700 soft grass was a bit more "exciting".

Bill, My cousin on my mother's side. Still Pictures taken with a sony HD cam. 2+meg ea.

not 3,800 - I recall more like 2,500 but as you pointed out, not really a challenge.

Reminds me a bit of Plum Island up here in Massachusetts. Just summer fun - no chain link fences, jets, FBOs. People still bring a lunch and hang out for a Saturday afternoon.

Re: Some Pix to share

I looked quickly at the wrong runway I guess:
Runway 16W/34W
Dimensions: 4500 x 1000 ft.
Surface: water

Runway 14/32
Dimensions: 2120 x 50 ft.
Surface: asphalt
