I now have the molds completed for all 112 & 114 models, so I can create duplicates of any model Nose Gear Door for anyone that needs them. These are not certified parts. They're strictly made to order parts. Anyone that needs them would need to contract me to build them, and then present them to their mechanic as owner produced parts.

I know for many of you this is not the best solution, but it's all I can do, for now. The FAA approval process, to get them certified would require years of work, and 10's of thousands of dollars. There simply is not enough demand to justify this expense.

I do have 1 brand new set of original factory short doors, and 1 brand new, right, original factory long door. These are brand new factory parts, never installed, with the original factory part number stamps on them. If anyone is interested in these give me a call.

As usual, Thanks Carl !!!!!

Hey Carl. I own N1362J, 112A Sn# 362. I had a bird strike this morning on approach for landing that took out my right nose gear door. pn# 46162-3. Not sure if a good sheet metal person can repair it but saw your post on a possible new one you might still have on hand? If not, How did get one made from your molds?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Hi Pete,

Sorry to hear, but glad you're not hurt..

I have a set of factory new originals that I really don't want to split up, and sell separately. I need to get around 7K for those. I also have the fiberglass knock-offs - they also come as a set for 1500.

Pricing on Carl’s fibreglas option looks pretty attractive. If you want to investigate rebuilding/repairing your damaged unit, you might take some photos and send them to Roy Williams with Airframe Components by Williams in Kendallville, IN. He can really work some magic.

Off topic,…. Roy is also a great source for installation of the various elevator spar repair/replacement options. Has done a good number of them and does great quality work.

Here are the knock-offs of the Long Doors. Once again, better in a lot of ways than the originals. They fit perfectly together - they're made as 1 part then cut in 2.They're listed here:
