Good Afternoon COG,

i am looking at purchasing my first aircraft and as one does stumbled into Commander and decided this is perfect airplane for me. I am doing homework, and recently linked up with Commander owner out of KTOA in his very nice 114TC and he was kind enough to share his hangar and a nice late morning flight around the area to see the handling characteristics (Thanks again John and as promised will pay it forward). I have narrowed my search down to the later model 114TC or 114B after several hours of AD and SB reading. I have many more hours of reading and learning to do here on the forum.

I am in Southern California (Los Angeles Basin Area). I have a bit of time in a Debonair (my dads old plane) and mostly flying a C182RG and SR22T I rent now. I was pleasantly surprised with the tight, responsive controls, and overall comfort compared to other HP/Complex stuff I have flown. Would really like to get one out to stretch it legs on a longer XC and see how it handles during a long cruise segment and decent profile as one of my main XC locations is a bit of a slam dunk into a Valley.
