N1156J - Sort of a sighting

Today we took a round-trip from home in Albuquerque to Cottonwood, AZ (P52). On the way out, I heard a conversation between ABQ Approach & "Commander 1156J." Didn't technically "see" 56J, but was on the same frequency at the same time. FAA registry shows 56J registered to Darrell Anderson in Pima, AZ - can't find him on COG forum, tho.

I don't believe he's a member

Hey Charlie, I don’t mean to be a stalker, but I heard you on center freq yesterday, over NM someplace. I wrote the N number down and checked it later. It’s just that in most places one doesn’t here a Commander to often, I figured you’d be around here someplace.

The ‘4 corners’ area in on my short list to visit. Maybe a bit West of you, but in the neighborhood. Happy travels.

Joe, my normal routine is requesting flight following. Just like you, when I heard some say "Commander" before their N number yesterday, I wrote it down too. In fact, it was the first time I'd heard another Commander over the air. Curious - where were you? I was between Albuquerque (KAEG) and Cottonwood, AZ (P52). Round trip there and back yesterday.

BTW - the Farmington airport (KFMN) has a really good restaurant & is a great stop if you head to four corners area; Shiprock on the Navajo Nation is a great volcanic neck formation to see from the air. But be careful, the FBO has a steep ramp fee - they will waive it if you buy their very overpriced fuel, but if you park to the far east end their is a "no charge" ramp area.
