Hi.

A few of us (at least 3) plan on flying in at KLNS. About an hour and change flight for Sherman (KHWY), less than an hour for me (KABE), less than an hour for Marcelo (N40).

Time, Location on field, activity besides grabbing a bite are open to suggestion - we'll optimize for Sherman. I prefer to discuss planes. You can alway visit the amish but I have mixed feelings on that.

We've chosen sept 29th (Friday) since weekends are usually family event focused and a Friday theoretically shouldn't take away from that.

All are welcome of course. But 2 x 112TC/A and a 112A currently plan to head in.

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

Right, per our Text planning, let's just hope weather cooperative. Did Fly down to Summer (90 deg) at PHF for 'an ice cream social with Sid. These two flights will have to serve as my Post Spring COG Flyins.

N112HT flew beautifully today. TOWER AT PHF requested an expedited 'Right short pattern approach to Rnwy 25. I was at 2000 SE over the James River expecting per ATIS RNY 02, so ended up with a very tight U at 400 AGL to Rny 25 as a Jet was coming in hot on a 12 mi final. Due to direct gusty crosswind from 340, landed long to expedite end of runway turnoff, so did Joel's trick-20 deg flaps and your trick, 'Up da Flaps' at touchdown.

Return flight (340 deg heading) was level at 4500. Over the York River, navigating Harcum VOR & Near West Point FYJ , ATC asked me to go to 5 so a C-130 E bound on maneuvering trials also at 4500 would pass under me. C-130 No ADS-B , But couldn't miss him.

Reminded me of a trip to Florida near Ft Bragg in my C172 at 12500:
"CESSNA 314, Traffic at your 5 o'clock, descending, will cross in front of you-

A B-52!!!! That was fun-avoiding that Wake Turbulence!

Morning Sherman,

That reminds me of a VFR flight just outside of Nashville when Memphis Ctr advised me of a flight of 2 x B-52s. Chock Two looked bored and was doing mini- S Turns behind his lead. They were just cruising along minding their own business looking mean as hell . . .

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

I'd love to join you since KCXY is less than a 15 minute flight to KLNS. Unfortunately, N4591W is out of service due to a nose gear actuator leak. I just extracted the actuator today (with the help of my A&P, in a shower of unexpected hydraulic fluid) and it will likely be a week or more until 91W is returned to service.

Please keep me in mind for future fly ins, please!

Craig...

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

Thats too bad, Craig.
Still welcome to drive in - think we'll end up at the restaurant on the field ..

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

Absolutely Craig! Since 44N last spring. Moazzam. Marcelo, Sid and I have a text sharing thing going. Text me 410-302-3930 your cell # and I'll include you !!
Thanks for chiming in!
A few years ago, Sid tried to get a Mid_Atlantic flyin at the May annual Virginia Beach Warbirds over the Beach flyin/museum.

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

Is this still a go? I would come if it's a lunch trip. Keep in mind that Trump is back in Bedminster tomorrow afternoon, so I would have to be back by 4 PM, before N51 gets shut down for the weekend.

Re: KLNS Fly-in Sept 29th

Hey. Todd - yes it is. We're meeting at 1230 at Fiorentino restaurant at KLNS tomorrow ..

Sherman takes off at 1100, myself at 1150, Marcelo likely at 1130.
Craig may drive in.

Lunch wrap up by 1:30 - perhaps hang out and chat for a bit but plenty of time to beat the TFR ...

ps. Just checking into commander.org else would have responded earlier ..
