Spent 1 1/2 weeks in Israel--qualified as a sheep herder -1st photo. Joined up with Udi Levin and one of his partners, Reuben Raz (2nd photo, Udi on far right, Reuben in center---both pretty successful and worldly gents. They are wannabe commander owners. There are only two AC-11s in Israel so it is tough to get one there, and likewise to get checked out in one in-country. All flying is under control, no such thing as VFR. Once they leave Israel, operating is much more flexible, including VFR.

If they get to California they can check out in my aircraft if they want, maybe others closer to the Mid-east can offer to help in the check out. Getting checked out is easy, meeting the insurance requirements to fly the airplane alone per USAIG is an entirely different thing (need IFR rating, 500 hrs PIC, 25 hrs in make/model, 100 hrs retrac in same type aircraft, FAA Med, BFR, etc.).

Was able to get one of Udi's partners, Rueben, some time in 87W with an instructor. Here he is --- smiling. Seemed to like the trailing link, landings got better. I hope that other COG guys can offer some help in their logging instructor time in that they will not be able to get it done in Israel in Class/Type to satisfy insurance requirements, what ever they might be. They travel to the US regularly and hopefully they will alert the COG when they will be in certain areas.
