Houston airports

Anyone ever fly into Weiser Airpark "KEYQ" in the west side of Houston? I have to tie down next Sunday for a night and that strip is closest to client and cheapest gas. My asst. Jean says "Cecil sounds like a character -- bunch of good ol' boys." I don't ever want to go back to Hooks again after the debacle last year, and Weiser is closer than West Houston. Even further is Houston Exec, but they have great reviews on AirNav.

No, but thought you'd like to know I was in and out of KDWH to pick up Sid a couple weekends back, and managed not to rip my wings off.

my bro. lives in Cypress. stayed there for a few mos. when I first moved to TX in '06 and visited Weisner. neat little airport, folksie restaurant on field, all small airplanes/flight training. airplanes landing and taking off right over the 290 traffic. not far fm things to do.

Friendly place, great BBQ place just outside entrance. Single Runway used to be in country but built up on one side and Hwy on other side. Narrow runway...
Haven't been over there in quite a while but kid I coached (son's age) is now a flt instructor over, can put you in touch if you want?

I did my instrument training there at American Flyers. Fried my Garmin 430 in the mid summer 104 degree heat. Shop there bent over backwards to get me a loaner over 4th July weekend and not interrupt my training. They were good folks. Three flights a day for eight days and nary a problem.

Of course, I didn't go banging into ground equipment so I didn't have to deal with airframe shops. that might be the key.

Just sayin!
