VRef finally published appropriate valuation(s) to AOPA for RCM Hot Shot conversions on 112s and 114s. Summer book now showing the turbo-normalizing kit @ $35K for 112, $45K for 114s.

Good going, Carl! appreciate your due diligence in getting that done!!

Thanks Judi,

This is a huge, and well deserved boost for Hot Shot owners. Now they are up where they should be.

Re: Hot Shot valuations

one note to mention, tho. there's still std. depreciation schedule one needs to use for 'age'. those posted values are for "new".

The Commander factory may be closed, but the Hot Shot factory never sleeps:-)

Re: Hot Shot valuations

Carl,

Are you the one that has started all this trouble? The Hotshot as the best kept secret was also a secret to our local tax folks.

Now with V-Ref my Georgia ad-valorum taxes on the Commander are going to go up.

For years I have been appealing the tax value of my Commander, Explaining that she is a thirty year old orphan. Parts are not available, and the FAA has declared her not "airworthy" . OK she was two days out of annual. Only good as a chicken house.

I purchased a fake chicken from Michaels Arts and Crafts Store, just to place on the wing for the pictures.

Next thing that will happen is the increased ramp fee for Hotshots, They are a lot harder to handle.

Life must go on. and taxes will have to be paid.

Life is a barrel of fun.

This is why you should never throw anything away. Michaels is very expensive. You could easily fabricate a fake chicken from some of your old trash and not have to spend a dime. The next time you change the oil on your truck save the box that the oil filter came in, paint it black (sometimes you can find old cans of paint at paint stores for free), and put it over the turbocharger control knob when you are not flying the airplane. Then you could claim that the system has been removed, or is inoperative, and not have to pay any additional taxes, or ramp fees.

Note that this is free advice. Another service that we offer here at Hot Shot Central!
