On my flight home from annual this morning, N57-KOXB, the ride got pretty rough. At one point it was so bad a message flashed on my Aspen, Cross Check Attitude. I was expecting check your seat cushion.

Anyone else ever see that cross check attitude come up on their Aspen ?

Wow on that big bump it looked like your head almost hit the window!

Never been in anything like that or seen that message before...

Good video Gary!

Ed, that last bit of turbulence really rocked the plane. With stabilization the camera doesn’t really capture it. I hate bumps! ;)

Stephen,

Thank you! :)

Great job Gary! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Nice flying, Gary. Man, what a spirited flight! That looked like work :) Well done...

Bumps are the one thing in flying that always make my heart flutter...can't stand them

Yes, sometimes serve turbulence will cause it. My Aspen continually did it (almost every flight), and I spoke with Aspen themselves and it has to do with internal sensors in the Aspen itself that may need re calibrated. You can pull the unit (2 min job) and send it in and they will recalibrate the internal sensors. The cost varies on it, they quoted me $2000, so I upgraded to the Pro Max and traded my unit in for a new one (cost me $5K for the upgrade), 5 min to reinstall and 1 hour to hook up a wire to the radio.
