Re: Free Fall

Out of a perfectly good airplane???

Congrats... a real E ticket ride, eh? So tell me,... how thrilled was Denise w/ this excursion of yours? ;-)

Re: Free Fall

Great pic! I know it was a blast, but now how is the sensory overload? When is jump number two?

Re: Free Fall

We did this for awareness of Battens Disease. http://www.medhelp.org/lib/batten.htm
My 3rd cousin has this. His Grandmother, 74, did this to raise research money. I promised to go with her.

The whole gang at http://www.skydivetheranch.com/ pitched in and sponsored the event with video and pictures.
Many thanks to them.

Support form everyone. Wife included. After seeing all the different people jumping, my daughter wants a gift certificate for her 18th birthday.

Re: Free Fall

Sven,

Great picture. I suppose if you are going to leap from an airplane, raising awarness of Battens is as good a reason there is. You'll have to post the video!

Re: Free Fall

Very cool Sven. Great picture!

Re: Free Fall

I also had the privilege of falling out of a perfectly good airplane 5 times. The call it Airborne School. That's were I really decided that I wanted to be up front, not in the back.

Sven, glad you did your jump for a much better reason.

Re: Free Fall

Also five jumps under the rounds here, then another 83 under squares. I haven't jumped for a while, even though I still have my gear hiding in my closet. Its just so darned hard to fly and jump at the same time. Time constraints, you know. Plus it makes the passengers awfully nervous.

Re: Free Fall

I wouldn't want to have been the pilot of that flight...

Re: Free Fall

Suicides by skydiving are fairly common and seem to happen a few times a year. Most of the deaths and injuries are from recklessness or carelessness. Most recently at a local DZ a girl made her third jump of the day. She previously complained that her chest strap hurt her boobs when she opened her canopy so she made her last jump with the chest strap unbuckled...and fell out of her harness.
Sad.

Re: Free Fall

I hear that very same thing almost happen to Gary Miesch but fortunatley his "moobs" were big enough to keep him from slipping through the harness... : )

Re: Free Fall

Very Cool Sven!!
