Flying magazine

I would venture to say that all of us Commander owners have experienced the complements on the design of the airplane. Just fly into any small airport and someone will ask what type of airplane is that?

Congratulations to Bill Rhoad on his “ brush with fame”!

Excellent article! Great job Bill, promoting the brand.

I just was sent this article by my A&P
It was written by member (I believe ) Jonathan Welsh
But...
That being said..the best ever was at KLBE Palmer Regional when just as I was landing "Nice Commander" comes over the radio from the Tower!
They are always a conversation starter.

Very nice article. It's great to see a positive twist on an "Orphaned airplane", and a thumbs up to the Owners Group!

Annie needs a little help with the strut preasure - "easy, old girl, easy" - hope the squat switch isn't engaged!

Nice article, but as far as orphans go, Commander's still have pretty good support, Aerodyme, Welsh machine, COG etc.

Yes I guess our airplanes are "orphaned", but if you have ever owned a Beech product you will find out that if you ever need to buy anything from Textron you will wish that you had an "orphaned" airplane. My disposable income increased after I bought my Commander.

I can vouch for that. I owned a Beech Sierra for a few months. At the time, I was looking for a 2 door complex aircraft. Two models were in the running - Beech Sierra, Rockwell Commander. I opted for the Beech because the company was still in business. I couldn't find one in Canada so I imported one from the US. During the import process, many parts had to be replaced to meet the Canadian Airworthiness standards. The price of the parts, and the difficulty in obtaining them gave me a brain aneurism. After owning the plane for a few months, a grew to really dislike it. So I sold it and hunted down a 112A instead. I absolutely do not regret that decision.
