Departing Treasure Cay the other day they would not allow me access to my plane without searching our luggage. Had the discussion with them (two ladies just doing what they were told to do) That there are no restrictions as to what I can carry on my own plane. They said TSA was down there for a week and instructed them to search every bag entering the tarmac. They said they had not been instructed to confiscate anything for private flights and admitted that they were getting a lot of grief from private airplanes. Suggested only recourse is to send a letter to Nassau.
Never asked if we were going back to the states or on to another island.
Oh yea - before I forget they also patted us down (highlight of my day)
So you have to search my bags, don't know what you are searching for, have been told to leave everything that is in there alone - WHY - Just to piss all of us off?
Gotta love the Bahamas.
Oh and they quietly imposed new parking and tie down fee's on the government owned airports (back in July 17) but many locations just don't have a procedure to actually collect it.
