Re: Anyone going to AeroExpo at Sywell this year
Hi all in the UK
As I plan to build runways and an airport at Grand Oaks Plantation, I do a lot of investigateing and looking at other airports.
Mainly grass ones, looking and runway lengths and widths.
This morning I was on Google Earth and took a look at White Walthem, this is where I did my Private Pilot training back in 1969.
Looking on Google Earth it looks like White Walthem now has runways, Back when I was there we just landed into the wind.
Back then CFI stood for Chief Flying Instuctor and at West London Aero club he was Maurice L.Looker. Are not old log books great?
Well, my question is about how they have the runway numbers in the grass? Is it lime like on a football field, or concrete? I also see a centre line that is white.
If one of you would just drive out onto the field and take a look, a couple of photos would not hurt, and let me know.
Thanks.
Life is a barrel of fun.
