All ready for existing Hotshots?

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

Great Job Carl
I know it took a lot of work.

Yes it's going to work with existing Hot Shots. The exhaust exits through the right cowl flap like the 114B's. The cabin heat intake comes through the right forward baffle. The benefits are 1) more aerodynamic 2) better cabin heat 3) quieter 4) better looking.

Well shoot Carl, I could have written that ad copy for you just from the picture ;) You had me sold once I saw the final exit.

Seriously though, I was probably unclear. I was wondering if it was approved and ready for us. A follow on would of course be: Can I have the cowling that goes with it?

Regards,
Neal

5) Will make the cowling way easier to remove and install since you no longer have to make your way carefully around the exhaust.

Also uses a heavier gauge material on the Y section (.065) and the wastegate valve is heavier gauge (.125) so should last longer.

Should be approved by July or August.

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

I am a really bad a$$ kisser, but I want to publicly compliment Carl for continuing to enhance an already excellent system. These changes will be good for existing owners, future owners, and therefore the type as a whole.

Now we just need a new cowling, composite prop, absolute pressure controller, electronic ignition, gross weight increase, air conditioning, two more seats, pressurization, and world peace.

Regards,
Neal

Thanks Neal.

I'm not sure we can get all of that done, but I am working a some of it.

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

Well, buried deep in the configuration settings for one of the Garmin navigators (GNS-750, I think) there is apparently a "World Peace Mode Actv" option... Apparently, not all the avionics shops are enabling that setting, or we'd already have world peace...;)

Here's a link to a BeechTalk forum discussion with a picture of the configuration screen: http://www.beechtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=104667&hilit=world+peace

Nicely done Carl, now just make sure you are still working on that Turbolilzer for the IO-390 and 580's!!

Joking aside (NOT!!), great work. Thanks for all you do for the fleet.

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

Yes Carl..>THANKS Definitely want it when ready to go, even though I just replaced my exhaust... :-(

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

and @ what approx. cost are we putting on this, Carl?

For the new Hot Shots being converted there won't be any additional cost. If someone already has a Hot Shot, I'm guessing 3-4K, but the exhaust is just one part of the performance upgrades that I'm planning for the 112's.

All of this is optional. There is nothing wrong with the original Hot Shot design. I'm just working on improvements for those that are interested.

The 112 Hot Shot is the best kept secret in GA, Looks, Comfort, and Speed, all at the price of a 172. I'm working to make them even better:-)

Re: 112 Hot Shot Exhaust

Carl

I obviously can't benefit from it but thanks for all of your work to improve the breed!

I've got a few things I'm working on that might help you:-) I have to convince the FAA first of course - that's the hard part!
