    N4624W new owner

I just got this post in another regional pilot group newsletter. We might need to have a Commander midwest get-to-gether... k I have received information that Tammy's Airport Cafe at Phillip Billard Airport Topeka KS (KTOP) is adjacent to the taxiway and has really good food. I haven't been...

    Hello and Greetings from Canada

Hello Nathan - I too, came from the other "C" world. My first few flights in my TC were quite a transition. When advancing power, you reach a point where the turbo boost starts working. On a hot day mine will even stumble if the mixture isn't back somewhat. The higher the OAT, the more...

    US 2020 COG Fly-in?

Brings back memories from when I was a kid. There was a little grass strip with a flying community on a lake about 50 miles from our home. Dad & I would go to a cookout at a guys hangar on a Sunday afternoon. Several other guys had their planes there. Everyone took their logbooks... k

Don't marry your decision (flying decisions) - always keep an open mind

The cable shut-off somehow had worked open. If you look down at how that setup connects to the gascolator, the clamp can bind against the bracket that mounts it to the firewall. I think that day it didn't shut properly. Somehow vibrated open in fight. I sure look at it closer now on pre-flight. k

Don't marry your decision (flying decisions) - always keep an open mind

Had that happen on a .8 hr flight. Kirksvill lineman told me on shutdown I had fuel running out behind the nosegear. I was short about 8 gall Not enough to get my attention on the factory gauges. Glad the exhaust didn't "spark". k

New member...and looking for some advice

Robert - Thanks for checking on our Commander lineup! Spirit is a great GA airport. I think their is a guy at Creve Coeur with a 112. I'll bet he would love to let you see it. They did have a Sunday cookout every week. Not sure that' happening right now but someone there would know.

    New Cowling Update

I took out my metal shield years ago. Jim has a blanket that is light, oil resistant, and I never see my cowl temp probe over 80 deg (it's placed above the turbo between the blanket & the fiberglass). Haven't cracked the fiberglass since I installed it. I'm ok right now but would be onboard if...

New to COG and new owner of N4637w

Welcome Kyron! You'll have a learning curve transitioning to this airplane. Avoid abrupt power changes. Fly it like it's a transport category & you'll love it. Once you become comfortable flying your TCA, be careful not to fall asleep on long cross countries! Get it setup and it flies itself...

    Hello from Saint Louis

Great choice! Are they still doing the Sunday afternoon cookout every week? I used to stop there a lot. Their was a 112 TCA based there for a few years. I think it left. Good decision on Festus too. I have to use a 172 to go in there. It's pretty short and interesting terrain.... k
