Great landings in those conditions Gary. Looks like you greased the one after your go around.

    new gas spring door stays

Agreed! I bought them a number of years ago as my pax door was missing the factory stop entirely. Really nice to be able to leave a door open in the summer.

    Looking for Canadian Commander Owners

Hi Chuck, The airport does not provide any parking. There are two FBOs on the field, Porter and Stolport. I keep mine tied down at Stolport but their ramp is usually pretty full, so I'm not sure how much itinerant parking they have available. Here's the contact for both...

Were you planning on getting a tie down, or just nightly? I keep mine tied down at Stolport (https://stolport.com/fbo/). I think they still offer daily rates that are probably more reasonable than the Porter FBO. Give them a call: 416-361-1100. Let me know if you're coming in, and I'll try...

I love it. It can get busy with Air Canada and Porter, but the controllers are usually very accommodating and the views can't be beat.

Southwest Ontario Fly-In on September 2nd

Re: Southwest Ontario Fly-In on September 2nd There is self service gas at St. Thomas (CYQS) for $1.60/L. I'm going to have to leave early due to the airspace closure at CYTZ for the Airshow, so I may drop in there for a top up en route.

Southwest Ontario Fly-In on September 2nd

Re: Southwest Ontario Fly-In on September 2nd I was at the Medical Examiner today and asked him about this. He said as long as you're flying a U.S. registered aircraft, you're ok. You just can't fly a Canadian registered aircraft with BasicMED in Canada.

    Budget Travel

Re: Budget Travel Agreed on Iceland Air! I spent a few days in Reykjavik a couple of years ago. What an experience! I rented a C172 with an instructor at BIRK (which is right in Reykjavic) and spent 2 hours flying around the island. Highly recommend a stopover for anyone flying to Europe...

    Commander at CYKZ

So I just moved my bird to CYKZ (Toronto Buttonville), and after shutting down and starting to complete the journey log, I heard two of the flightline guys to my right say "let's just park it here". I looked out to the right and thought the aircraft type looked awfully familiar. After getting...
