    CCR-SF Bay Area Spring 2014

Re: CCR-SF Bay Area Spring 2014 I believe that I have the answer as to interest for having a gathering at CCR. Not much interest. A few expressed interest coming from outside the N. Cal. Area. Virtually none inside SF Bay Area. So let's drop that idea. It is simply too much planning and effort...

Friends don't let friends fly IFR

Re: Friends don't let friends fly IFR Tony, what is required to maintain currency on the OTT? Seems like a good alternative to the full US IFR rating and proficiency/currency criteria in order to do a simple popup to on-top. The motivation to get an IFR rating for casual operations is so that...

    CCR-SF Bay Area Spring 2014

Now here's a thought. This photo was taken at a COG gathering at Harris Ranch in the middle of California in March of '07. I can't recall the names of those in the picture except for me on the right and Neal (I think) on the left. Looking at the photo triggered a thought that we are long due...

    T82 2013

Re: T82 2013 Great photos. I just hope that when Judi puts some up on the rotating banner that some names get added so that we know who all of the clowns are. BTW-on Jim B's gallery, shot #115 with 1239J, looks like he was almost committing to a gear up full stop.

    Commander lands on highway

Re: Commander lands on highway I took a different approach with my trunk mechanic. He is really experienced and old, like me. Nevertheless, when over water (Sea of Cortez) and I pondered why the spark plugs were fouling way too often, I decided to take my mechanic with me to a bonified mag shop...

    French Lick Insights

Re: French Lick Insights O.K. Birdstrike----"not casting----"machined billet," but that is harder to spell! I was offered the option of drilling out to a larger hole on the top scissor attach point on the Torque Tube and buy larger bushings. My concern was just that, a larger hole reducing...

    French Lick Insights

Re: French Lick Insights Scott---I asked before, was the broken scissors attachment on the casting repaired ( & how) or was the casting replaced? If it can be "repaired", that would be very good news. Many times the scissors bolt holes on the casting enlarge or become oval.
