Get a ride in a Commander 114 at first opportunity. See if it fits, most often it does for tall people. There are members in your area who might step forward to help you get a ride. Getting complex hours will be costly, big impact on insurance cost. Geta handle on this before you get...
Canadian Bucket List
A 31 yr Sgt in the Toronto Police Service (see below) made an inquiry into the 114 that I have on BarnStormers. After a few exchanges, I deduced that he wants to become a pilot and to own a complex aircraft. I suspect he could benefit from some communication with other...

Marcos,
Not sold yet. Took it off market for some fixes. Back on the market now with Barnstormers at lower asking price. Flies nice----now got FAA ADSB-out certification on Tail Beacon.

Do my annual with a local trunk mechanic IA/A&P. I am selling the airplane, so getting it ready for market. Could not sell the airplane until I was satisfied with the fix for having lost 2 of the bolts holding on the cap to the casing of the magneto. When it was eventually sent back to the shop...
Andy---I also had work done at Sterling and ran into a major issue with cap to casing bolt loses.
Took 4 months to get them to fix the problem. John Potter 77 114 N4887W

Re: New member
Before doing the TBO criteria, read Savvy on doing it "on condition." Sobering how many hours beyond TBO you can operate without concern, given oil sampling/Borescopic inspections/filter splitting/etc.

Re: Cat Island
Joel,
Agree. I recall being halfway from La Paz to El Fuerte (Mx mainland) over the Sea of Cortez, suspecting that I had a bad mag, 4 souls and saying, "goodness, this is stupid"----but being halfway, kept going.

AOPA Pilot 11/9/18
Question
Where can I find information about the number of fuses that must be carried on board an aircraft for night flying?
i have never heard of this requirement and nor do I know of any fuse that is accessible inflight in our Commanders.

Answer
You must carry one spare set of fuses, or three spare fuses of each kind. However, this requirement applies only to fuses that are accessible to the...

My wife, over 4 decades, uses rosarie beads and has worn out a few sets. She is always ready. It is just the price of going shopping in exotic places.
