    New Shimmy Dampners

Re: New Shimmy Dampners When it all comes together just right you will not even hardly know you touched down on the mains as our landing gear is very forgiving. With regard to the nose gear - I do not let it touch the runway until the speed is bled off and gravity is doing its thing. If done...

MT Prop delivered- happiness in a crate

Re: MT Prop delivered- happiness in a crate Super good looking. The 3 blade makes our airplanes totally different looking. I really like the looks of them.

    Control Yoke Collars

Re: Control Yoke Collars It can be confusing when old posts are used for new info -- I find myself doing that and finally realizing it is an old post and in some cases very old..

    Headed to Nashville for GnR

Re: Headed to Nashville for GnR Go to Airnav and look at the airports around where you want to go and the FBO's are listed at the bottom. A lot of the time the FBO will state if they have cars. If they do you can call ahead and hopefully get one reserved. It works for me.

Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017

Re: Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017 Same here - some of our photo cell lights came on but it really wasn't all that dark. What was interesting is that you could see the change in the Sun/Moon eclipse by looking at the shadow of the leaves on the asphalt. Very interesting.

Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017

Re: Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017 Lots of activity here regarding the eclipse. Pearson Field will be closing for part of the day as they are concerned about the number of people (public) that will coming down to the park (next door to the airport) and crowd control. Madras OR., is...

Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017

Re: Trip to see the Eclipse 8/21/2017 Salem is about a 15 min flight from my airport so would be easy. Pearson will go partially dark since we are so close to Salem. Not sure how much light there will be.

    Pirep Oshkosh

Re: Pirep Oshkosh One of my friends went this year and said the War Birds were outstanding and in one of the airshows it had a super mixture of the new and old. I sounds like the military had a big presence. Sounds like fun to me.

    Winter Flying

Re: Winter Flying The WX has been quite wild for sure on both sides of the Cascades. On the West side we had over 16 inches of snow which is over the top for our normal winter WX. That picture looks like East of Wenatchee area and the Columbia River on the right side.

    Cloud layers foil Christmas!

Re: Cloud layers foil Christmas! Considering the conditions you describe I think it was a great call. If I really want to get to a place I go commercial. When flying my own airplane I do not really care about a schedule. I for sure make plans but they are entirely flexible.

    Commander 114 at Salem OR

A group of us went to Salem Or (SLE) for dinner this evening and I saw a beautiful Commander N 114GG parked at the airport. Has a gorgeous paint job and a well decked out panel. Never seen it before.
