Way cool- I took a plane out of Maui once
( Cherokee ), Flew it around the island and landed it at Molokai. Did a Pitts around Kauai - both very memorable experiences. Especially when you're from Arizona.

Start by turning the master switch on and listening to see if the pump runs. If the pump doesn't run continuously then there's no need to do anything. Take off with the gear down. Fly it to where you want to go and land. Pulling the breaker and all of the other things suggested are great...
Keep in mind that when it does that it is only momentary and since the ammeter is kind of low in the panel, you may or may not catch it. I have the light and it comes on for such a short time when the gear droops that even it is hard to catch.
I noticed in your recent thread that you mentioned that you have fuel leaks from the screws on the inspection plates. I found this product actually from an earlier post which I used when I had that problem.
In my opinion, easier cheaper than proseal. You just put some of the stuff on the threads...
