    Let's do something exciting !

I have done the trip 15 times. Best time to go is early May - rates drop because it is after the winter season. May is before storm season and weather in the US is generally good. Added bonus is that Florida is not very humid in the spring. I would be willing to give any guidance that I can.

Martin in Switzerland is probably the closest one to you but he hasn't been on the site much lately.

    2022 Fly-In?

If you're talking about the restaurant up on the second floor, I did not see any conference rooms when I was up there last. That doesn't mean that they don't exist I just didn't see them. If the fly-in was based at somewhere like the m resort then we could use their conference rooms for meetings...

    2022 Fly-In?

I agree - I used to fly in and out of Henderson regularly on business and it's quite a nice airport. There's a restaurant and rental cars are available. There is an nice hotel / Casino not far from the airport https://www.themresort.com/ And certainly there's many other entertainment options in...

    2022 Fly-In?

All true - but the last fly in there wasn't particularly exciting. The airport facilities to hold workshops were limited and there really wasn't much to do there.

    2022 Fly-In?

It was actually a better place in 1999. Back then you could still taxi your plane down the hill, Park, walk down to the river and take the shuttle across. I do miss those days.

    2022 Fly-In?

Laughlin is another interesting place that might have some potential. Plenty of hotel rooms across the river. Unfortunately it's another airport where the FBO had imposed landing, ramp, and security fees. They may be willing to negotiate some of that for a larger group.

    2022 Fly-In?

If Palm springs rises to the top of the list then someone needs to take a close look at the FBO ramp fees, fuel costs and any other impose fees. I used to go there pretty regularly years ago but stopped going because the costs there got out of hand and it sure seemed like they didn't want to...

    2022 Fly-In?

I'm assuming you do know that Angel fire is at 8,379 ft. Not sure how comfortable Flatlanders and normally aspirated 112's would be with that choice. Santa Fe is it good choice and is a bunch easier but Routes from the East Will put you over higher terrain.

    114TC Cross-Country

Really helpful if you add your model, Serial # and home base to your signature. That way when you have questions related to your specific plane (and you will) the responses will be more correct.

    Today’s weather

I know everybody thinks all of Arizona is hot but we fly in and out of our house up in Show low in those kinds of temps. It gets below zero up there. I am fortunate and that I have a hanger up there and I both plug the plane in and as Jay said I put in a heater in the back baggage compartment...
