    IO-390 News for 112/B

Re: IO-390 News for 112/B Hi Willem, I'll have to disagree... in my mind, there has been no fantastic plastic airplane yet... as a point of comparison: the SR22 is nearly as heavy as our aluminum Commanders, so no weight saved at least in that design ($100M+ spent).. the SR22 streamlining is...

    IO-390 News for 112/B

Re: IO-390 News for 112/B Hi Paul, Sorry, not compatible with Hot Shot because the IO-390 is a forward inlet engine. The benefits of the IO-390 come at no weight penalty, and no effect on engine TBO. It's just the magic of displacement, induction efficiency, and exhaust efficiency. Jim

    IO-390 News for 112/B

Hi All 112 and 112B Owners, We have recently received FAA-approval for replacing your engines with the IO-390 while continuing to use the three-blade prop you may already have installed. This makes the engine upgrade less expensive for those of you already flying the STC Hartzell prop...

    EASA SuperStreams

Hi to All in EASA Land, I now have 2 inquires from EASA land for having SuperStream installed. I figure I need four owners signed up to be able make the EASA application fees (and headache) worthwhile. If we can add two more interested parties at this time, I'll proceed to apply for EASA...

    Plus 20 Commander

Re: Plus 20 Commander Hi Mathieu, The Plus 20 (gallons) project went on hold for all of last year as we focused on elevator spars, fittings, and many other empennage urgencies. In Feb we signaled the FAA we were ready to proceed, and are now waiting on their OK of the cert plan. Jim

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi Bill, OK, but I am still a bit confused. Roy did a rudder for me in May, but declined to do another one for me in June, saying, and I quote him, "I am not going to do any more Commander stuff". So I sent it further across the country, to AAS. Jim

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi All, Aerodyme and AAS have fixtures. Other shops would need to construct a fixture for constraining the elevator during correspondence drilling, or the airplane itself can be used as the fixture (there are some advantages to this). Roy of Williams advised me in...
