    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi All, Pics below of the first PMA fitting installation, on a freshly installed PMA spar. Finally! We are within a few spars of caught up on the spar backlog, and are now starting up the ramp of delivering the fitting kits. The first kits have shipped. Today...

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi Dave, The majority of spar cracks are right hand, but we overcompensated and got a bit behind on lefts. The process is about 3 weeks from sheet to shipping tube. Fitting production is on gate hold while Wichita puts us through a few more paces to make sure they...

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi Mark, The Aerodyme PMA 44211-RE9 (left) and 44211-RE10 (right) are FAA-approved for compliance with AD2011-07-13, whereas "certified shop spars" are not. For your reference, I have attached copies of the PMA Letter and Special Approval for the AD by the Wichita...

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi Mark, Where did they get the replacement spar? If it was "duplicated", the only definite way out of the trap is for you to order a PMA spar and have it replaced again. The only FAA approved repair for cracked spars is to replace with new PMA 44211-RE9 or RE10. Jim

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi All, Regarding sharp edges on the original fittings p/n 44285-1: Yes, agreed, take any sharpness off the edges before re-installing any factory fittings. This will help minimize the fretting on the spar webs. It will not, however, prevent the sliding of the...

    Elevator Inoculation

Re: Elevator Inoculation Hi Phil, There is a small weight, and balance, change which can be handled by calculation and adding one AN970-4 washer at the mass balance attach bolt. Jim

    Elevator Inoculation

Hi All, Aerodyme yesterday received FAA-PMA for the improved elevator hinge fitting assemblies and is taking orders at a special pre-buy price for deliveries to start later in June. The FAA-PMA means the fitting assemblies are now approved for installation. Separate concurrence from the...

    New Shimmy Dampners

Re: New Shimmy Dampners Hi John, Tightening is NOT a solution. Our kit SK140: http://www.aerodyme.com/Service-Kits/service-kits_10.html Shimming is IMPORTANT and those parts are included in the kit. Jim

    New Shimmy Dampners

Re: New Shimmy Dampners Hi Byrne, Sorry, not in May. Given the time and $ sink of the elevator situation, I probably won't have the dampners engineered and approved till late this year. If the Cape is not set up to do a thorough rebuild of your old one, have them pull and send it to me...

    SuperStream

Re: SuperStream Hi Roberto, No, sorry the SuperStream process takes approx 48 hours and the best I can do is to include installation of new empennage bush/bear kit and a set of RE2 fittings. Spar replacement would be extra. Jim

    SuperStream

Re: SuperStream Hi Keith, I could do US 4,900 for the STC kit including two of the RE2 fittings and an SK-110 empennage service kit. Jim

    New Shimmy Dampners

Re: New Shimmy Dampners Hi Andy, Ditto Lawrence's advice. You should do a thorough evaluation and refurbishment of your nose gear. Please note: the wear can only be properly evaluated on jacks with the springs unhooked and actuator dettached. We offer various kits and parts which include...

    SuperStream

Re: SuperStream Real neat he was able to cut the corner to BMG. We had considered Bloomington as a direct out of BUF but was clear he needed to skirt further north at least past YIP area. I hope he had time to snap a few pics for the girls of the 25' snowbanks posted on the BUF NOTAMS. Jim

    SuperStream

Re: SuperStream Lonnie is right on the plan he and I mapped this AM to become a Canadian and skirt the weather to the N, knowing he would have an easy out all the way around by just turning tail northwest. He is running lower to Gary than we planned, either to stay under or to advantage the...
