    King of the ramp

She is ramping out at Austin Executive KEDC this weekend. The Cirrus's all look alike - and there are TONS of them at KEDC every time I fly in.

    King of the ramp

I flew to North Houston Regional Airport KCXO this past weekend. Galaxy FBO parked me on the ramp. GA aircraft on the ramp were well represented - Bonanza, Cirrus, and Piper Arrow among others including lots of business jets. We went into the Black Walnut restaurant (probably best airport...

    Flying My Super Commander

Jim - Meridian has a very small window for W&B. TBM is the way to go for a single turboprop pressurized airplane. Can't beat them.

    Out Of The Shadows

I am scheduled to fly mine to Arkansas this weekend. I have been thinking about it all week. I can't wait. It is that kind of airplane.

Yeah coming from a Beech Sundowner, I got very used to a pilot's side door.....once you have one you forever think that you are too good to crawl over a right seat to your seat ever again!

Welcome to the group. I bought mine without ever having seen it in person, sat in any type of Commander, much less flown in one. I live in Texas and I bought mine from a great COG member in Long Island NY. I flew up to Long Island, saw my Commander, did a walk around, filed my flight plan back...

    Oshkosh EAA 2022

My son after living for years in Madison decided to move this past month - so....for the first time in years I may not be going (I quit camping with the plane years ago).

Commander 114 almost a Baron victim

Another testimonial for the need of two doors. I used to fly a Malibu a few years ago for a buddy. The only thing worse than having one door to the cockpit is not having any doors at all. Plus a giant spar to have to get over in case you needed to get out in a hurry.

Hello all - 112tc New Member

I went with what I had because I wanted to have primary certification AND keep my old analog gauges for backup. In regard to probes - you will have to go with new probes. The ones that your analog gauges will not work with the engine monitor. And besides, you only have one EGT and CHT probe...

I have the same thing - and I kept my factory analog group so that I have redundancy.

Hello group! - new member :)

OK....the seats ARE a hell to get out.. that is a negative. For whatever reason Commander decided to put in a LaZBoy for a seat. Comfortable...but compared to other airplanes I have owned a little more complicated and alot more heavy to get out. For the 114B's, the cowling is the easiest...

Hello group! - new member :)

The Commander is not a difficult airplane to maintain. Find a good A&P/IA and buy him a COG membership so that he can access the club website. Mechanics like working on them because they are simple and big - especially the engine area.

    2022 Fly-In?

I don't really care where we have the COG fly-in, but rather than be fixated on where it is going to be, it probably is going to come down to whoever wants to be responsible for putting it on. I hate to admit that I am one of the ones who is the recipient of the work of the organizers - I am...

    2022 Fly-In?

Exactly....there is ZERO economic sense for traveling by private aircraft. At least as an accountant would look at it. I also like to hunt, and I can tell you that there is absolutely no more expensive way possible to put meat on your table than by hunting for it. We fly, hunt, fish, camp...
