Re: Hot Shot oil use? I'm not too sure about that one either, but he said you can reuse more parts. I'm of the opinion if an engine goes the distance, if it's open then you replace everything, spend the money.

Re: Hot Shot oil use? I've got about 750 now. I'd be very happy if I can get to 1900 hours with no problems. My Mech is of the opinion that if we overhaul 200 hours before recommended TBO I save alot of money. Another OWT?

Re: Future engine New engine's are also a gamble. Look at the 580. Cessna passed on the 580 because of early problems, but it looks like those problems have been solved and so far it's been a nice engine for those that operate it. The theilert engine still has problems and it been in production...

Re: Future engine I'm thinking the extra fuel flow will be offset by the cheaper cost of Mogas and a 3000 hour TBO. No doubt there's going to be alot of work needed on the cowling system to get the airflow through the radiators. Maybe a cooling scoop underneath the belly aka it's bigger cousin...
