  • Hi Mark,

I am about to be reintroduced to my new bride who has been in the hospital since our wedding night nearly two years ago. As a 1976 Commander 112TC, she is a new type for me and some of the Insurance companies are requiring 5 hours of dual with a type experienced instructor, some are waving the instruction due to my current qualifications and experience level (17K plus total time). I have not settled on one particular company as of today, but I would like to be prepared incase my selection does indeed require the dual training.

N1858J is currently located in Mansfield, Ohio (KMFD) and this is where my familiarization flights will be taking place. Her new home will be Sumter, South Carolina (KSMS). I do have a friend with the exact aircraft that can help me move 58J anywhere in the US to accommodate my training requirements if necessary.

I saw your post in the COG and wanted to see if you would be interested in taking on this job. I am currently out of the US and will be arriving in Mansfield on the 18th of February. We have possibly one or two days of shake down and flight tests to complete as she has gone through an extensive instrument panel overhaul and upgrade (See attached photo). Ground tests have been completed already and so far so good. There are some switches and controls that have been relocated but nothing too drastic. Hopefully this doesn’t scare you away. Please let me know if this may be something you’re interested in, or if not, if you know anyone who maybe able to help out with my requirements if they end up being required.

I hope you are safe from the bug and staying healthy.

    Kind regards,

    Darrell
