  • Andy---I also had work done at Sterling and ran into a major issue with cap to casing bolt loses.
Took 4 months to get them to fix the problem. John Potter 77 114 N4887W

Thanks. Overall, it was a challenging experience with them. I also, had 3 incidences of hanger rash :( Where do you get your work done and annuals these days?

Do my annual with a local trunk mechanic IA/A&P. I am selling the airplane, so getting it ready for market. Could not sell the airplane until I was satisfied with the fix for having lost 2 of the bolts holding on the cap to the casing of the magneto. When it was eventually sent back to the shop, they did what should have been done all along. I literally had to threaten the service manager with legal/going public action to get it done. The mechanic at Sterling had not properly torqued the bolts when they put in the rebuilt magneto originally.I talked to the shop after the repair and was completely satisfied with the fix. All four casing thread replaced with helicoils by a pro. You can call me anytime----707745491 or send a n email john.potter@1958.usna.com

Andy, I noticed that you were taking Instrument lessons in KLHM. I have a plane down there and I live in Auburn. I am interested in buying a Commander aircraft. I would love to pick you brain on your experience has been. Please contact me when you get a chance. Dan Hill 530-863-6269
Was in pattern with your aircraft at CCR tonight. Glad you found 32R. I think you stopped in at Sterling, wanted to say "hi" but you left right away at sunset. John Potter N4887W-CCR.
