Yea, well some good things must come to an end. With everything going on it is just hard to get time to fly. Twila haven’t flown in over a year and it is hard to get people to go up theses days.
Hi. I'm going to create my own spreadsheet to track AD's as well as normal time or hour maintenance inspection requirements. Would you care to send your spreadsheet so I don't have to start from scratch?

Sure, send me an email and I’ll attach it. Michaelmcgrath@tds.net
Thanks you for the welcome, I have not landed at dauphin island yet, but plan too as my in laws have a house there. I have only had 1340j a couple of months and so far really like her. Glad to know there are a couple people not far from me as I am sure questions will come up and even tho the annual is not due until May of 2020 I am already thinking and hoping there is someone not far from me who could do it, as I gather from looking around in here that it would be best to find someone familiar with the commanders and nobody at KCQF fits the description. I am working on my instrument rating and will be doing some cross country work and perhaps I will drop in your way to say hello one day. Hope this message finds you as I could not figure out how to reply to your message directly? Thanks again and I will certainly be asking some question...

I am not sure if my previous reply got to you. The site is a little strange.
I'll look at my schedule and we can try and meet sometime. I will tell you everything I know anyway. :) If you like to talk about it you can call me on my Cell at 407-341-3476. When I got mine I came from a Cherokee 180C. Just had to have a check ride to get my complex. I was not comfortable even after the check ride so I flew for about a month on my own getting my landings down and Most of all getting my routine for takeoff and landing. once I was more comfortable in doing that I started taking friends and family.

My engine had a rough plug that I cleared a few weeks ago for business trip but just went today for a cruise and on run-up roughness still there on run-up so canceled flight.
Could I ask what is the Tempest plug # & did you change them out yourself? DId you get them from Aircraft Spruce, could I ask what they cost?
As you said, piece of mind is worth a lot!
    Thanks
    John

I looked at my logs and it was UREM38S. There are several places that have them and I can't remember which one I got mine at. If you google the part number you will get several suppliers. I know if you like aircraft spruce they will match price. Quality Aircraft Accessories has them for $83.50 ea.
Is that shaded glass in your plane? Very nice looking. With your old avatar, I wasn't sure that's what I was seeing, but that really looks good. How is the visibility out on overcast days or in the evening?

Thank you. I used the Gila "Peel & Cling" window tinting. I used the lightest tint on the door windows and dark on the rear. When its put on correctly you really notice much. One thing is there is no glare in the instruments and when it is hazy out, it is real easy to spot traffic. The people I have given rides don't even notice anything different.

At night it is a little darker, but not much. The very few times I did fly at night I looked out he side, then leaned forward and looked out the side through front windscreen and did not see too much difference.

The nice thing is, if you don't like it, you can remove it since there is no glue.

The best thing of all, it really keeps the temps and UV's down in the plane.

You can call me about it if you like on my cell: 407-341-3476
Mike, engine was rebuilt in 2002, with a total of under 600 hours. At about 260 hours someone replaced all the cylinders/and put in brass piston pin end caps. no issues since then until last November when metal found in filter. Pulled #2 cylinder, found spalling on lower shell bearing. Please reply to peter.schuttinga@gmail.com

Thank you for the information. Have you had an estimate on the repair? If so what was the estimate if you don't mind?
    Thanks Mike.

just wanted to say thanks for the great fly in last sat. enjoyed meeting some nice people and enjoyed some good food. hope to talk with you again.
Mike, I just wanted to say I didn't know you were so close to me. I'm based out of KFYE in Sommerville TN which is only 88NM. My Commander is a 1975 112A SN 305. If you need any help on your Commander I'm also a A&P and do all my own work on my Commander. I know the ACFT fairly well. Drop me a line sometime if you would like too meet up. I'm also a EX Airforce Mechanic. I was a crewchief on KC135's and got out in 1996! Just thought I would say hello and introduce myself.
