all lights changed to LED interior and exterior, upgraded the transponder to a 345 for ADS-B, removed Century HSI, installed Garmin GI-275 HSI+ADAHRS, autopilot reworked and a bunch of maintenance as usual. Put Carl's tail stinger lens on, that's about it....

Sounds great! Hope to see you at Jekyll at the fly in this fall.
Unfortunately, yes, been on the ramp at KHEF since November, 2018. Sun Screens & gust locks in and, aside from the nose strut not holding gas, not too much worse for the time. Needs engine overhaul, probably would do prop overhaul now and annual. Can't speak for battery & tires (they were fairly new & tried to keep them inflated, but may need new rubber). My son lives in the area & has kept an eye on her.

Thanks for the update, was looking for a possible project plane, but seems she might need $40-50k engine/prop and a $10k annual/ifr cert
Our 3-blade McCauley prop was overhauled November 2018. Over time we have noticed vibration in the plane slowly get worse. Had the prop dynamic balanced in January 2020, and still have vibration. Would any of you have other areas to check and investigate?
Fuel Pressure Gauge, part #1101-003, image attached, anyone have any idea where one can be purchased to replace ours? Thanks
Hey Scott -- I'm teamed up with a Tech grad this week at the FFA convention in Indy. He was KA. I did an informal "survey" of rudder bushings at the fly-in. Shook a lot of them to figure out whether mine needed replacement yet. I don't remember doing yours but we have quite a bit of variance in the fleet.

I've elected to let mine go another year or two. Jim can certainly sell you the kit. Tell Lendon hi too! k

Thank you, I will tell Lendon!! Ours was one that Jim said one side had a little play, but the folks from Arizona (forgetting names) Jim said there's was really bad.....got the kit on its way, hope to be up and running next week. Miss our time talking planes! Was so much fun! So cool you are with a fellow Red Raider!!! Tell him guns up from us!
    hi.

    Looked at your post.

Assuming your ATIS baro reading was +/- 1 hour old - using that the reading should be about 29" MAP.

Your JPI was showing 29.2" MAP - which is less than 1% error.
Your analog gage shows 27.8" MAP at the same time - it is analog and may be showing the value in error.

Now the Manifold pressure transducer in the JPI 830 is "good" but not bullet proof and primary spec like the JPI 900 or JPI 930.

    So my view is

    - take 3 different readings on different days with the engine off to see if your analog manifold pressure is gage is truly faulty.

Will do, thank you very much. I will say, in flight, the JPI and the analog MP gauge are really, really close. So on the 114, a cruise normal setting is 18.6" MP 2400 RPM fuel at 11.8-12.3. The old MP gauge shows 18.75 from what I can tell, now the old fuel rate gauge will show about 10 GPH with the JPI at 12......

Question, do you think it matters to do these tests with the plane outside the hangar versus inside the hangar? Thanks
Hi Scott - I also have a 114A. I'm curious about your Aviation WB app experience? I use ForeFlight for my WB calculations but would also like to have a second source to cross check. What was the cost to send them your POH and have them load the app specific to your plane? Thanks - Peter Boynton, Waitsfield, VT, N269W

Good morning Peter! Since they created the profile already for the 114A, it would be the cost of purchasing the app. If I recall, they have a couple of versions you can buy, something for a single device use or multi-device use. I highly recommend this app and is a great backup to ForeFlight!

A p.s. to this, I bought the multi-use package and they built the profile from my POH for free
Hi...couldn't find your cleaned instrument...what was the cost to have it done?? Thanks! Terry

Just now seeing this, what is the question on the instrument?
Scott, tried to send a message earlier today, but not sure it got through. Anyway I saw the picture of you and your son in front of your Commander. I'm also an Aggie and looking to buy a Commander. I'm also in process of getting my PPL. If you had some to time to talk I'd like to get your thoughts on the Commander: pros & cons and recommendations. My number is 214-566-7800 and I'm in Dallas. Thanks, Kelly.
