Yes, sometimes serve turbulence will cause it. My Aspen continually did it (almost every flight), and I spoke with Aspen themselves and it has to do with internal sensors in the Aspen itself that may need re calibrated. You can pull the unit (2 min job) and send it in and they will recalibrate...
